In case you guys are missing how strange Analisa and I are...
Here is a brief synopsis of our night.
After both having long days of teaching, we decide it is well worth it to make a trek to our favorite stores.
1st stop? Dollar tree. Enough said.
2nd stop? Ross. Successfully left with some playdough, and a wall decoration. of course.
3rd stop? "Goodwill" Who closes their store at 7pm? grow up.
4th stop? Winco. My second time today, we are regulars. We always get the same things. 2 boxes of fiberone bars, 2 packs of sandwich thins, grapes, carrots, turkey, you know.
But... tonight... a frozen pizza. look alive.
5th stop? R apartment. cooked frozen pizza, analisa made pudding... kind of :) Almost burnt down the ol' apt...
and here we are now, watching friends, digesting a whole frozen pizza.
I love my roommate.

No question...
my kindergarteners are the cutest things in the world.
Here are some class stats.
I have 22 kids. 11 boys, 11 girls, 2 that don't speak much English, 16 with far from typical names, 0 who can pronounce "Baylis"
We listen to the hokey pokey, line up cadence, tidy up, say hello, and peanutbutter about 9,000 times a day.
We take a few recesses.
We can only sit for 6 minutes at a time.
We are working on our names, letters, numbers, colors and shapes.
I am learning what patience really means.
We love play doh, light bright, toy cars and painting.
They appreciate my dancing skills, and my ability to "draw" dogs and cats.
Analisa and I are going to Didiers in a few minutes.
Today felt so much like Fall and I loved it.
My kids have the biggest smiles in the world.
My Kindergarten team is the best I could ever imagine.
I go to target about 3 times a week.
Analisa is here to get me.
Love love.

From room 203 to 101 we go
Thursday, I arrive to Longfellow to find the front office staff quite confused that the subdesk showed me as only to be there half a day. After many calls between principals and HR personnel, I was told that I was to report to Logan (my new school) at noon that day, not the next day as planned.
Emotions were heavy as I left my third graders in the lunch room, and headed off down the road to Logan. I was embraced my smiles and hugs by my new fellow teachers.
I am on a kindergarten team along with three other ladies who are WONDERFUL. In a strange way, I feel like Logan is where I am supposed to be and feel a lot more at peace than I did at Longfellow. So, I spent Thursday PM and all day Friday setting up my classroom. Here is what it looks like as of Friday PM.
I get my kiddos Monday morning!
My birthday was wonderful. I am constantly reminded of how amazing my friends are. I woke up Thursday morning to find the whole appartment decorated by Analisa, along with chocolate chip and two iced grande no whip mochas for us to share.
Upon returning from a stressful day transitioning between two schools, Analisa, Jimmy and Keith celebrate my day with me with a wonderful Mexican feast, compliments of "Analisa's" cooking skills :) Along with a wonderful dessert and fun with 3 of my best friends.
Last night we continued the celebrations over at the boys. To all our absent corner house girls, we need you. Last night ended up being me, Analisa and ten boys. We missed you so much.
Now I continue making lesson plans. Here we go Logan Lions.

Goodbye Panthers, Hello Lions!
As quickly as my time at Longfellow began and came to end, my new adventure at Logan comes to a start.
Thursday will be my last day in 3rd grade at Longfellow. Why is that?
Because as of Friday, I am a Kindergarten teacher at Logan Elementary just down the street!
Not sure what Kindergarten will be like, but i'm really excited about it!!!
Parents were here this weekend, that was so fun and wild of course.
Internet is shady so that's all i've got folks.
Much love

learning to trust.
To keep everyone posted, as promised, here is the update on my job.
Staffing was today, and it turns out, I will not get to stay with my kids for the remainder of the year. Since I was a sub-start, I knew this was a possibility going into the school year, but did not anticipate the emotions that would come attached.
Basically what it comes down to is the numbers are too low in the primary grades, and the district won't fund an "extra" teacher to keep the numbers low, even though it would be beneficial to the kids. So, I, being the sub-start, got removed.
So what that means is, after next Friday, after I have transitioned the new teacher into my classroom and said goodbyes, I am unemployed. HA.
All the staff at LF have been so wonderful and encouraging and supportive, and are very upset with the outcome. The hardest part is knowing I have a week with my kids, and that's it. The last thing these kids need is another person leaving them. They have enough of that in their homes, and I know they won't understand.
On the plus side, there is NO DOUBT in my mind, that there is something planned for me, and for my kids. God is good and has never let me down, I just can't see the whole picture right now. I am so lucky to know this and have someone to count on.
Another plus side? Mom and Dad are driving up tomorrow to spend the weekend at R apartment. Can't wait to see them.
So, I sit, at the service station, planning next weeks lessons for my kids. We have a math assessment and I know they will rock it.

DONT GIVE UP!!!
It's been a while blog world. Sorry.
Things have been completely crazy. A week ago, Sydney and I left the farm for a quick minute to grab starbucks for ourselves and Kristine and Addy (we were all cleaning the house to prepare for dinner, where they tried to set me up with a real cowboy...) Anyways, while we were at Starbucks I had a voicemail, listened to it and it was the principal of the school I student taught at. She said she hoped I could come to an interview the next day (Friday) for a position that had just opened up in 3rd grader. Obviously I quicky accepted the interview slot. Was a complete disaster for the next 12 hours as I sat through a blind date hearing Bryce and Paul talk about cows... too extreme for me... as I panicked about the possibility of having a job.
The next morning, I was sitting in the Longfellow office with the principal and reading coach (both of whom I knew very well). The interview went great, felt very comfortable and successful. Went back to the farm for a few hours, and on my way home from the farm got a call saying I got the job. Within 24 hours I had been called for an interview, had the interview, and had the job. It was now Friday afternoon and I started training on Monday morning at 8 with the district.
Mind you, I have been in a 3rd grade class for one hour since my years of being a 3rd grade student. I panicked the whole weekend and made endless trips to target, walmart (shh mom and dad) and many garage sales trying to find some 3rd grade supplies and books, mind you I had never seen 3rd grade curriculum.
Monday: Training 8-3 with all new certificated teachers in the district. 330-8 my first time in my classroom, frantically trying to get something together. Here is a before picture of my classroom, about 1 hr into my "organizing" the furnin\ture:
This poster welcomed me when I came in:
Tuesday: In school staff training 8-3. Everyone was SO welcoming to me. I knew everyone already, from student teaching there, but it was such a wonderful feeling seeing my name on the new staff list, seeing my name on my mail box and having every one tell me they were SO glad I was picked for the position.
Honestly, I couldn;t have done it without my fellow staffmates. Everyone gave up so much of their time to come check on me, help me rearrange, make sure I had everything I need. My principal is amazing, and I have the best teachers surrounding me and encouraging me, acknowledging I am in a rough spot and how great i'm doing.
My position is a substart position, which basically means I may not have a job after next week. Since it was so last minute, and they couldn't post the position online, they couldn't technically hire a new teacher, so i am a 'sub start' and if a teacher in another school who is contracted loses their position b/c of lack of enrolement, or wants to transfer to my school, they can take my position.
We are all hoping this doesn;t happen, but regardless, I am not in control and it has been an amazing opportunity and experience. I know I can start a classroom in a few days, and make it through the first week of school.
Thursday my kids came, and they are amazing. The whole third grade is a pretty awesome group, but obviously mine are the best :)
By Friday they didn't want to do get to know you and fun activities all day, they wanted to LEARN! They are an ambitious group and I love them for that.
Even if I only have them through next Friday, they have made me proud already and I know they will all be successful.
Here is a picture of my class that I took before school started. It is more decorated now, my kids helped me with that :)
